Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Conduct booking/ confirmation of conferences
   • Promulgate and organise booking the conferences in accordance with Range Standing Orders.
   • Identify and resolve booking conflicts.
   • Process supplementary bids in accordance with Range Standing Orders.
2. Confirm range instructions conform to Range Standing Orders
   • Confirm the authority for weapons and ammunition to be fired on the requested range.
   • Conduct gross error checks on traces and templates.
   • Confirm contingency plans and safety requirements.
3. Ensure activities are safe and deconflicted
   • Identify and resolve conflict between separate activities on the range.
   • Coordinate activity phases to ensure there is no conflict between phases.
   • Appoint a Director of Practice where more than one activity is being conducted concurrently on the range.
4. Brief stakeholders
   • Brief stakeholders on training area and range activities in accordance with Range Standing Orders.
   • Raise and forward notifications in accordance with Range Standing Orders as required.
5. Approve and record use of training area and/or activity
   • Sign authorised traces and templates in accordance with Range Standing Orders.
   • Notify applicant units and authorities in accordance with Range Standing Orders.
   • Record activities in accordance with Range Standing Orders.

Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the candidate must demonstrate evidence of performance of the following on at least one occasion.

exercising tact and judgement in a command and control environment

interpreting and applying technical information
